More than half of Filipinos need to borrow to cover a month of expenses
The BSP’s 2025 Consumer Finance and Inclusion Survey found that around 48% of Filipino adults could cover at least one month of living expenses without borrowing. The findings also point to gaps in financial knowledge, account ownership, and household financial resilience.
