Fintech Alliance.PH Just Launched a Fraud Intelligence Network. Here’s What It Means for Every Filipino

  • We attended the Fintech Alliance.PH 2026 General Membership Meeting in BGC. Here’s everything announced: from Fraud Intelligence Network launch to blockchain and cybersecurity.
  • Published: March 11, 2026 | By Chelsea Dione of KKB Research Team

What Is Fintech Alliance.PH?

  • Fintech Alliance.PH was founded by Lito Villanueva, Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer of RCBC, widely recognized as one of the leading voices in digital finance in the Philippines and across Asia.
  • It has over 140 member companies that together handle more than 95% of all digital financial transactions in the country. Their combined users add up to over 110 million Filipinos.
  • If you use GCash, Maya, a digital bank, or any financial app in the Philippines, you are already part of the world they represent.
  • Every year, they hold a General Membership Meeting where the industry talks about where things are headed. This year, three topics were front and center: protecting Filipinos from fraud, making digital finance safer, and expanding access to financial services across the country.

The Big Announcements

  • A New System to Fight Fraud
  • The biggest news of the morning was the official launch of the Fraud Intelligence Data Sharing Network.
  • Here is what it means for you. When one bank or financial app detects a scam, all the other banks and apps in the network are told right away. They all share information with each other so scammers have a much harder time targeting people.
  • For our community, this is a big deal. Scams and fraud are among the top concerns we hear from KKBuddies every day. This is a real step toward making your money safer.

Government and Industry Join Forces Against Cybercrime

  • A formal agreement was signed today between the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) and Fintech Alliance.PH. This puts the government and the private sector officially on the same team when it comes to fighting cybercrime and digital fraud.

Two More Partnerships Formalized

  • Fintech Alliance.PH also signed agreements with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council and the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines. The ASEAN partnership is about working together on financial programs across the region. The Rural Bankers partnership is about bringing better digital financial services to communities outside Metro Manila.

The Man Behind Fintech Alliance.PH

  • One of the people worth knowing in that room today is Lito Villanueva.
  • He is the founding chairman of Fintech Alliance.PH and the Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer of RCBC. He has spent years working to make digital finance more accessible, more secure, and more inclusive for everyday Filipinos.
  • Under his leadership, RCBC has received over 250 awards for innovation, including recognition as the Best Bank for Digital by Euromoney for five straight years from 2020 to 2024. He has been named among the Top 100 Fintech Leaders in Asia and is widely referred to as "Mr. FinTech of the Philippines."
  • But beyond the titles and awards, what stands out about Villanueva is the work. He has consistently pushed for digital finance that reaches not just people in cities but Filipinos everywhere, including those who have never had a bank account. That mission is exactly what today's General Membership Meeting was about.
  • For our community, he represents what responsible and inclusive digital finance looks like in practice. And it was good to be in the same room.

And One More Thing: KasKasan Buddies and Fintech Alliance.PH Are Now Official Partners

  • We also have some personal news to share.
  • Today, we officially signed a partnership agreement with Fintech Alliance.PH. And it made complete sense for us to be there.
  • Our community of 1.3 million KKBuddies are exactly the people that digital finance was built for. We are the everyday Filipinos who use these apps, swipe these cards, and send money through these platforms every single day. We are not just observers of the fintech world. We are part of it.
  • That is why we are here. We want to use our community's reach and voice to help more Filipinos build safe, secure, and responsible money habits. Not just to know more about finance, but to actually feel confident and protected every time they use it.
  • Through this partnership, we will work with Fintech Alliance.PH and its member companies to raise awareness about scams and fraud, promote responsible use of digital financial tools, and help our community make better, safer decisions with their money every day.
  • We are excited about what this means for every KKBuddy. More details coming soon.

The Speakers

  • The program was hosted by Rico Hizon, award-winning news anchor with CNBC, BBC News, CNN Philippines, and ANC.
  • Atty. Eugene Teves from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas delivered the keynote. He talked about where the BSP stands on blockchain and digital money, and what rules are being put in place to keep these technologies safe for Filipinos.
  • Joey Concepcion, Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, talked about the Philippines' role in the region and what regional cooperation means for everyday Filipinos in terms of access to financial services.
  • Atty. Renato "Aboy" Paraiso, Executive Director of the CICC, talked about the government's push against cybercrime and why everyone, including ordinary Filipinos, plays a role in staying safe online. This session hit close to home for us. Scams come up constantly in our community, and it was good to hear from the people working to stop them.

Why This Matters to You

  • Every announcement today connects to something real in your daily life.
  • The new fraud network means the apps and banks you use are now sharing information to protect you better. The agreement with CICC means the government is more formally committed to going after scammers. The push toward rural banks means more Filipinos outside the city will soon have access to the same financial tools that others already enjoy.
  • We will keep you updated as things move forward.
