Travelers arriving at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 can now exchange US dollars, euros, and Japanese yen for Philippine pesos using a self-service currency exchange machine from BDO Unibank.
The machine allows arriving passengers to convert foreign banknotes without filling out forms or getting assistance from a teller. It operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and dispenses both peso bills and coins.
Where to find the machine
The currency exchange machine is located after Immigration clearance and the arrival gates, directly in front of the BDO branch at Terminal 3.
According to BDO, the machine can accept up to 30 banknotes per transaction and checks the authenticity of the bills. It also issues a printed receipt for each exchange.
How to exchange foreign currency
Travelers can complete the transaction in five steps.
- Select the foreign currency they want to exchange.
- Read and accept the terms and conditions.
- Scan their passport and allow the machine to capture a photo for identity verification.
- Insert their foreign banknotes and confirm the peso amount.
- Collect the converted pesos and printed receipt.
BDO Executive Vice President and Branch Banking Group Head Cora A. Mallillin said the machine is intended to give travelers more flexibility when accessing foreign exchange services during their journey.
The bank said the service combines automated transactions with identity verification and banknote authentication, allowing travelers to obtain pesos without waiting for teller assistance.
Travelers should check the displayed exchange rate before confirming a transaction, as the amount received will depend on the rate applied at the time of conversion.
