Credit reports reach record levels

CIC said it generated more than 28 million credit reports in 2025, its highest annual total to date, while its system logged 38 million credit report inquiries.

More than 350,000 reports were accessed through its Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) Program, which allows Filipinos to obtain their own credit reports and review their credit history.

CIC President and CEO Ben Joshua A. Baltazar said the corporation’s financial results reflect the role of credit information in supporting lending decisions and expanding access to financial services.

Reliable credit data helps lenders assess borrowers and manage risk, while giving individuals a clearer picture of their credit standing as they seek financial products, the corporation said.

Why your credit report matters

A credit report contains information that financial institutions may use when evaluating applications for loans and other credit products. Reviewing the report can help consumers check whether their credit information is accurate and better understand their financial standing.

CIC is encouraging Filipinos to access their credit reports through its D2C Program, verify their information, and build a positive credit history through responsible financial decisions.

Individuals can find details on how to request their credit reports through the corporation’s official website at cic.gov.ph.
