- Ligao City, Albay, just joined the growing list of cities going cashless.
- The BSP officially launched the Paleng-QR Ph Plus program there by bringing QR Ph payments to the public market, tricycles, and local businesses. Vendors and drivers even attended a digital payment literacy session to learn how to send and receive money digitally.
- And in true BSP fashion, they also held a currency exchange where people could swap their old, torn, or dirty bills for clean ones. But honestly, the whole point of QR is that you stop worrying about cash and change altogether.

Here’s today’s KKB tip:
QR Ph is the national standard. That means you are not locked into one specific app. You can scan any QR Ph code using your preferred digital bank: whether that is Maya, GCash, SeaBank, or any QR Ph-ready account.
So instead of keeping your money in a low-interest account just to have it ready for spending, park it in a high-yield digital bank and scan to pay directly when you need it. Your money earns until the exact moment you use it.
