If you are flying this Holy Week or summer, here is what is happening on April 1:
✅ The good news — airport fees are going down.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines is cutting terminal fees starting April 1.
International terminal fee: ₱900 → ₱700
Domestic terminal fee at international airports: ₱350 → ₱150–₱200
Smaller airports will also see lower fees
❌ The bad news — flight surcharges are more than doubling.
The Civil Aeronautics Board is raising fuel surcharges from Level 4 to Level 8 from April 1 to 15.
Domestic flights: ₱117–₱342 → ₱253–₱787 extra
International flights: ₱386–₱2,868 → ₱835–₱6,209 extra
For most travelers, the surcharge hike is bigger than the terminal fee savings.
💳 KKB tip: Use a travel credit card that earns miles or cash back on bookings. You cannot control the surcharges, but you can earn something back.
