One phone call for about two minutes might save you ₱2,500 this year.
Many Philippine banks will waive your annual fee if you simply ask. It is not a legal right. It is a customer retention move. And banks use it all the time.
It works best if you:
✅ Have been a cardholder for at least a year
✅ Have been actively using your card
✅ Have a classic, gold, or platinum tier card
Here is a script you can use:
"Good day, I would like to request an annual fee waiver for my [card name] account. I have been a loyal customer for [X years] and have been actively using the card. May I request a fee waiver for this billing cycle?"
That’s it. Many agents can approve it on the spot.
If they say no, ask what spending threshold qualifies you for an automatic waiver next time, or ask when to call back.
Take note: premium cards like Visa Infinite and World Mastercard rarely grant waivers regardless of how you ask.
And if you are tired of making this call every year, some digital bank credit cards carry zero annual fees for life with no requirements at all.

This is a financial tip, not a legal right. Annual fee waiver policies vary per bank and card tier. Verify with your bank before calling.
