KKB brought its consumer-focused approach to financial education to Cebu as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) held its first Financial Education Roadshow in the Visayas on September 15, 2026.
Representing KKB at the event were CEO and Co-Founder Joel Khristopher Cabugos, Co-Founder Jax Reyes, Chief Marketing Officer Joram Bonus, and Content Creator Raphael Marabut.
The roadshow was held at the BSP Visayas Regional Office in Cebu City, bringing together financial education partners from the public and private sectors, advocates, civil society groups, students, and other local stakeholders.
A key part of the program was Session 6, “Credit Card 101 - Responsible Use and Smart Borrowing,” where Reyes served as a featured resource speaker alongside Credit Card Association of the Philippines (CCAP) Chairman Rolly P. Ebreo.
Drawing from his experience creating financial content, Reyes discussed common misconceptions around credit cards and shared practical habits that consumers can use to manage credit responsibly and avoid debt traps.
The full-day roadshow also covered key areas of the National Strategy for Financial Education (NSFE), including financial education initiatives aimed at strengthening Filipinos’ financial knowledge and decision-making.
Other sessions tackled cybersecurity threats and consumer rights under Republic Act No. 12010, or the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (AFASA), giving participants a bigger look at the risks consumers face as financial services become digital.
The event also marked the launch of specialized e-learning modules on credit card essentials and credit score education, developed by CCAP and TransUnion Philippines.
The roadshow provided an opportunity for its financial education work to intersect with the initiatives of BSP and financial industry, while putting its team members directly in conversations around responsible credit use, consumer protection, and financial literacy.
