Zero Fees Across Digital Platforms

The permanent fee waiver will apply across BPI’s comprehensive suite of digital banking services. According to an InsiderPH report citing a BPI source, customers will be able to make free electronic fund transfers using:

• The BPI Mobile App

• BPI Online (web platform)

• VYBE e-wallet

• BizKo (BPI’s digital banking app for small businesses)

Whether customers need to send money in real-time via InstaPay or make batch electronic fund transfers via PESONet, the transactions will now be completely free of charge.

Aligning with BSP’s Push for Financial Inclusion

This initiative, spearheaded by BPI President TG Limcaoco, directly aligns with the policy directions set by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). Recently, the central bank has been encouraging financial institutions to adopt more reasonable and market-based pricing for person-to-person electronic fund transfers.

By eliminating the "friction costs" associated with sending money to other banks and e-wallets, BPI aims to promote wider adoption of digital payments, improve overall financial inclusion in the country, and make everyday transactions more convenient and affordable for the average consumer.

Celebrating 175 Years of Banking

The permanent removal of these transaction fees marks one of BPI’s most significant digital banking initiatives in recent years. The timing of the move is also highly symbolic, serving as a prelude to the bank's historic 175th anniversary on August 1. By stepping up its efforts to encourage digital payments, the country's oldest bank is signaling a strong commitment to modernization and customer-centric service.

How to Access the Feature

To take advantage of the zero-fee transfers on mobile, BPI reminds its customers that they must update to the latest version of the BPI app. The updated application, which was released on June 25 with minor fixes and performance improvements, is currently available for download on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery.
